Data volume is only set to increase, as operators scramble to find the best combination of offload technologies and network strategy.
Mobile Data Offloading will provide the industry with the views of operators and their various approaches to data offloading, including deploying emtocells, WiFi offload and offload sharing between operators.
Network economists will analyse data costs and network profitability. Data experts in mobile operators will look at alternative ways of managing data overload, such as optimising content, better use of radio resource, tiered pricing strategies, sharing data costs with content providers and differentiated packages for heavy users.

Traffic management has now become a well-established network and service function, and many operators are beginning to move toward the next phase of implementation, which will enable discounting, up-selling and highly targeted marketing and loyalty campaigns to be implemented.
However, a number of issues need to be addressed before the next step can be taken. A closer integration between online charging and policy will be required to enable more creative bundling, marketing and customer-focused initiatives. Such goals can only be reached with improvements in the analysis of customer and network data and, at the network level, improvements in signalling routing.
