One of the most eagerly awaited events of Liverpool's European Capital of Culture celebrations is now live and on the streets for 10 glorious weeks! Over 100 two meter-tall replicas of the iconic SuperLambBanana sculpture have been painted and created by local artists, schools and community groups to bring a free to view, open air, public art spectacular. A designated Superlambanana trail is winding its way all over Liverpool. Throughout the City's neighbourhoods, flocks of fun-sized Superlambs are astonishing visitors and encouraging residents to see their home in a new and exciting light. Walk around any corner and there's a good chance you'll come across a visual feast of individual art.
The BT Art Gallery tells the story of each of the Superlambananas with photographs, artist inspiration and biography as well as company information from all of the sponsors.
Go Superlambananas is the result of productive and creative relationships between many different people and organisations. Sincere thank 'ewe's are extended to all the 'Super' Artists, Super Sponsors, community groups and individuals who have made this amazing mass participation event happen.
Special thanks go to Liverpool Culture Company, who originally commissioned the event as well as our Presenting Partners - Bruntwood and Northwest Development Agency together with Arts & Business.
Following the event, these sculptures will be sold at a gala auction with a significant percentage of the proceeds going to this years Lord Mayor's Charity Appeal (Registered number 229539). Please visit
